About Joe
Joe Orovitz is an award-winning photographer based in the NYC area in his fourth year at Hofstra University. He strives to tell a diverse story through his images, making sure every aspect of an event is documented. He especially takes pride in showcasing intensity and emotion from sport and everyday environments.
Joe currently serves as the 2026-'27 New York Islanders photography intern, and has been a photographer for Hofstra University and Hofstra Athletics since 2023. His work has been published by outlets such as The New York Post, Newsday, and the NCAA. Joe also serves as multimedia editor of The Hofstra Chronicle, in addition to freelance work for various organizations.
