About Joe
Joe Orovitz is a passionate photographer based in the NYC area in his fourth year at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. He is an award-winning/nationally recognized photojournalist and sports photographer whose work has been published by organizations such as The New York Post, Newsday, and the NCAA. He currently serves as a contracted freelance photographer for Newsday, and has been a photographer for Hofstra University and Hofstra Athletics since 2023. Joe also serves as multimedia editor of The Hofstra Chronicle, and will serve as photography intern for the New York Islanders for the duration of the 2026-2027 NHL season.
